We recently had a situation here in Lovells which is a sobering reminder of why Crawford County adopted a comprehensive Animal Control Ordinance. In the recent case in Lovells, a canine left its property and traveled into the roadway and collided with bicyclist causing a crash. The rider was left with severe injuries, requiring hospitalization and substantial time off of work. It could have been much worse, for both the person involved and the dog. So, for the safety of people, our pets and just being a good neighbor, make sure that your pets and any livestock are appropriately controlled.
